Hello everyone. As you know, I'm Shintaro Higashi. I wanted to do a Judo tactics video and with the help of a few students at KBI NYC, was able to puttogether a simple tactical judo video for Right vs Right situations. The concept is the same for Left vs Left.
The first video is about Hand placement. Obviously, this isn't the end all. There are many different variations from a variety of openings. Please use this as a guide to develop YOUR judo and allow it to further your thinking. It is important to build on strong fundamentals such as these and to pepper in your own innovations and strategies.
I lost track of where I was going, so the video sort of ends abruptly, but the following is the continuation. It answers the question:
How do we get there?
From these positions, you can unload your own set of techniques. If you are a power grip (overhand, over the back) kind of athlete, then you can do that too.
Thank you for watching! If you liked the video, please share it. If I get enough requests, I just might consistently make more of these.
