Shintaro Higashi

I'm Shintaro Higashi, a lifelong martial artist, competitor, and coach. I competed professionally on the International Judo Federation (IJF) circuit, climbing the world rankings to 43rd in the world, representing the U.S. at two World Championships, and winning two U.S. National titles.

Beyond Judo, I was a two-time All-State wrestler in both high school and the NCAA, a Sambo Pan-American Champion, and hold a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

In addition to my martial arts career, I hold two master’s degrees—one in Education and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. Now based in New York City, I teach at my dojo, Kokushi Budo, where I share my passion for Judo and grappling with students of all levels. I also love creating YouTube videos, breaking down techniques, and sharing insights on martial arts.

Above all, I'm a dedicated father to my amazing daughter, balancing competition, coaching, and content creation with the joys of parenthood.
